I bought a Pi3 after spotting the image linked from one of the guides and have been struggling to get things running properly. Thought it was probably time to ask here in case I'm missing something obvious...
The initial setup seemed to go OK, I got the Pi running Plex, Sonarr and SAB, and after a little fuss was able to mount an 8TB MyBook to use for storing downloaded media. I tried to use the MyBook as NTFS initially, but even basic file options were chewing up CPU time, so swapped to EXT4, mounted using the below in /etc/fstab:
Aside from not being able to work out how I should update Plex, it seemed to function reasonably well. Are there any guides on how to maintain the various packages post-install?
Before long I realised that even with the performance increase of the Pi3 that it wasn't really cut out to run Plex, so I'm now trying to pivot slightly, using the Pi to run Sonarr and SabNZBD, sharing the files across the network to my NVIDIA Shield, which can also serve as a Plex server.
I tried to uninstall Plex using:
but noticed that several services still appear in top, even after a reboot. Is there a different method to uninstall these packages?
Using the installer I've tried to install SMB and the NFS tools, and it's here that things began to go really wrong. I specified the samba user of 'pi' and gave it a new password, only to realise that this of course has also changed the SSH password. The installer itself didn't complete, throwing the following errors:
I did look at the samba guide, but as samba isn't even running can't see how to proceed.
Any thoughts folks?
