Not dead, no but the website has been down for a few days he is doing some updates and has this to say on reddit:
Quote:I'm trying to do some long overdue updates and am failing spectacularly. I'll practice more on the development copy before trying live again.
But you should still be able to use the api in sonarr, couchpotato,...
He also runs it from his basement so downtime can happen.

sonarr is complaing about it and has temporarily "blacklisted" it
Quote:Indexers unavailable due to failures: 6box
it's also saying my API key is now invalid, and obviously i can't do anything about it as the website doesn't work.

Are you using https? I just figured that you should use https for website and the url in sonarr and that should work fine. For me using https it both works.
Or with some bad luck your account got deleted (this happened a week ago) and sadly enough registration is now closed again.

sonarr is using https://6box.me
says API invalid.
well if accounts "accidentally" got deleted then it shows this guy clearly doesn't know what he's doing.

Have you tried logging in on the website and tried to generate a new api key?
Well it's a hobby project of him which he shares for free so what can you do when he screws up?

the website doesn't accept what i though the user/pass was.
well i've removed it now from sonarr and cp and won't be looking to re-add it again.
hobby or not, i can still say he clearly doesn't know what he's doing when he "accidentally" deletes accounts, if it was indeed an accident.
anyway 6box is no longer for me.

I should google myself more.
I wrote a bad SQL statement while drunk. I was trying to prune users that had 0 grabs and 0 api hits but somehow fucked that shit up.
At the time I had no backup that was at all current, so I made a post saying as much.
Anyways... give me a few more weeks for 6box to get to its fancy new (still free) home and I'll open the gates back up.

Hey Dick,
Thanks for the update and the funny story. I've made my fair share of scripting errors after a few drinks
We appreciate your free service!

You were one of the unfortunate who got purged and did not re-register while open.
A few weeks ago I sent a friend a drive containing 6box so I could relocate it to a fatter pipe. We are still waiting on a few hiccups with the fiber.
As soon as everything is brought back up to date at the new location I will let ya'll know.
