[Not Solved]

I'm having an issue with HD-Idle. I read that the default spin down time is 10 minutes, however, I have noticed that my drive spins down after three minutes. I'm a little concerned that I am going to cause damage to the drive by spinning it down so much. I can't figure
a) Why it's spinning down after three minutes instead of ten, and
b) How to change it
I have tried:
hd-idle -i 600
and I have tried changing the last line in /etc/default/hd-idle
from:
#HD_IDLE_OPTS="-i 180 -l /var/log/hd-idle.log"
to:
#HD_IDLE_OPTS="-i 600 -l /var/log/hd-idle.log"
and I tried removing the #:
HD_IDLE_OPTS="-i 180 -l /var/log/hd-idle.log"
None of these things worked. Is there anyway I can change the spindown time from 3 minutes to 10 minutes?
Thanks
Edit: I have also looked in the log and it is blank.
