Is it possible to run multiple instances of transmission from a single Raspberry Pi?
The scenario I require it for is this. For Sonarr I have Transmission set up to stop as soon as the downloading is complete and I only do this on a public tracker. However I use a number of private trackers for other purposes (and not with Sonarr). They obviously need to seed (the more the better). So I need another instance of Transmission that I can set up essentially as a seedbox.
Any help or other suggestions appreciated

I'm not sure about multiple transmission instances. But I'm sure you could use a different torrent client like deluge, or anything other than transmission

That's definitely my back-up plan

No joy finding a way to have multiple instances of Transmission yet. Not that I know what I'm doing anyway LOL
Going to try andding qBittorrent for now. One of my more regular private trackers prefers it. Worth a look

Well qBittorrent proved to be a painful option. Installing qBittorrent from the official repository went smoothly. However it is an older version and Sonarr wouldn't talk to it. So I had to compile the latest version of qBittorent myself. First I had to learn how to compile stuff o.O Long story short, all compiled, running perfectly, and playing nice with Sonarr

If you tell Sonarr to remove downloads from the download client's history, doesn't it automatically stop seeding then? This is the case with me, if Sonarr and CouchPotato finish something they move the files to the right directory and clean any leftover and remove it fromTransmission.
So can't you just use one transmission installation? Everything you do with Sonarr and CouchPotato will automatically stop seeding and be deleted when finished while everything that you add manually can be seeded as long as you prefer.

Sonarr is not meant to remove a torrent until it has stopped being seeded. Which is apparently how it is meant to be according to Sonarr's documentation. I'll have to play around more with some settings and see if I can get it behaving as you describe.

My mistake, you are right. Sonarr won't stop seeding your torrent. I don't use many torrents with Sonarr but mainly with CouchPotato and CP will stop seeding your torrents.
Sonarr does not have such function, I apologize.
So I guess, like mentioned before, the easiest way to do this is having two different torrent clients installed.
