Edit Reason: Partially solved
)
Hi,
info about this is rather scattered , I apologize if I missed anything particular that could have avoided opening new thread.
What I'm trying to do is install PMS on RPI2 running OSMC. I followed THE guide (thanks for that and for all others) . Tried method 1 and 2. I was not getting any errors during instalation. I get the same problem as described here but the solution doesn't seem to work for me . I also saw somewhere here that it is not even needed anymore. When I try to reach it on myserver.ip:32400/manage , I only get info that is unreachable.
Since I'm a Linux noob, questions are due to be dumb, so :
1. start.sh is not in the folder , at least not until I created one with command "sudo nano /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/start.sh" . So when it gets created , it only has one line, the one I added myself from "solution" : "export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/plexmediaserver" - is that ok or the file should exist fro the beginning?
2. If this could be problem due to sd card space, how can I check if that is bothering plex ? There is a 32gb card in RPI2, but maybe it's partitioned in a way it has no much space left, wouldn't know now.
3. Is there a command (again sorry if I missed it) which is useful for troubleshooting, or verifying that plex is NOT or IS running ?
4. In method 2, Jessie deb file size is rather small, is that fine ?
5. If I finally manage to get it to work, will Kodi performance within OSMC degrade due to another process added ? Currently it runs Kodi of course, SSH , Samba, Deluge for torrents ? If it will make it unstable am I better of just buying another Pi, maybe even Orange Pi since it's cheapest and probably sufficient for PMS without any need for transcoding. (My Samsung TV can handle almost any file type I throw at it ,including H.265)
6. Am I better off configuring everything on Minibian from scratch (performance wise)? I would like to avoid this one too since I'm more than happy with OSMC for now, but if needed...
If I made any typo now, I haven't done one yday when trying to install, since I mostly did c/p .
Sorry for a long one, I tried to be precise which I probably failed but
EDIT : solved with new installer by uglymagoo . Now I have to handle an occasional crash.
So, if anyone has time to answer :
How does PMS work on Minibian with KOdi installed. BEcause if it does not crash , I will go down that route. (if it continues to crash on OSMC)
Brgds
