I’m considering buying a second device for kodi on my second tv and to run transmission and openvpn so I can use my other device for remote access like ftp.
So what I would like to run on each device is on one minibian, samba, ftp, sonarr, couchpotato, kodi, nzbget and 2 usb hard drives of which is powered by the pi and on the other device minibian, kodi, transmission and openvpn.
One of the devices will probably have to go with wifi, preferable the transmission one. I already have one raspberry pi 2 and now my question is what should I get as a second device. Should I go with another raspberry pi 2 or would a b+ be enough, or maybe another kind of pi.
What I also have been wondering, do heatsinks really have a purpose? I read so many different things on the internet that I don’t know. The pi 2 I have now is not in a case but is placed in a drawer, it runs around 55°C with sometimes a maximum of 64°C. And the other device will probably be put in a compatible plastic case.
And then my last question, how do I let transmission download to the hard drives that are mounted on the other device? I know I can do this with samba on a windows computer but no idea with linux.
