Hello all,
I have gotten to a point where I realize I need to start fresh with my setup. It was thrown together very quickly and it has worked but after the most recent update to SickRage and the information I have learned recently about how awful uTorrent is; I want to start over. The issues I'm facing today are:
1. SickRage is no longer accessible on the web. It looks like after the most recent update the file structure has changed and now I'm screwed. (I only every update with GIT PULL)
2. SickRage was not renaming files correctly or moving them. There was some update where error logs were no longer available to me so I couldn't tell what the problem was.
3. Plex was having issues auto-updating upon folder changes and it was missing lots and LOTS posters/background images/fanart/etc... for shows that I've had setup for a while.
4. uTorrent with my VPN/Proxy service (Private Internet Access) was being strange.
I don't know how much of this you guys would like to know but I'm throwing it all out there. I have a custom PC running pretty decent specs across the board. The only thing it is not strong enough to do is to transcode video on-the-fly to stream over the internet (but I'm not too concerned about that). I have a 12TB Netgear ReadyNAS which I have setup in RAID5. It has a 7TB LUN which stores all my Television shows and the rest is for backups. I have an internal RAID 0 setup at 4TB which is my "intermediary" drive. It is where I store all my torrent files for download and where my SSD (C backs its information to daily. I have not gone deep into ACLs or user accounts (which I may need to do), so everything is running off of my main Admin account on the PC. I created an account with the same username/password on the NAS for permissions reasons. I use Private Internet Access for my VPN and I make use of it's built-in Proxy Server to use SOCKS5 in uTorrent for torrenting. I like it because I remain as anonymous as I possibly can be while downlaoding. I also use Plex as my Media Server.
What I would like to know from anyone willing to assist is this:
1. How do I safely/correctly/cleanly.... remove SickRage & Python from my system?
2. Has anything changed in the setup of SickRage since the most recent update? I will follow the same guide I did on Installing SickRage for Windows from HTPC Guides if it's the same.
3. Should I use BitTorrent, Deluge, Vuze or another torrent program? I like how I have things now where I can input a proxy server with SOCKS5 authentication to help anonymize myself.
4. Should I uninstall Plex as well and start fresh? The fact that it's lost most of the posters and images makes me worried.
5. Once SickRage is configured can someone help me with configuring the search settings? I found that those settings are what was holding the program back from being as good as I wanted it to be.
6. Does anyone know how to properly configure SickRage for Anime downloading and renaming?
7. Is there a better combination of downloaders, renamers, torrent programs, or other software that I should/could use?
I'm sorry for the really long post but I want to make this work really well. This forum has always helped me before and I hope this won't be the exception.
Thank you all for your time!
