Rpi3 CouchPotato loading a blank GUI

Hi, First time poster and raspberry pi noob.

I'm on a new rpi3.
I installed CouchPotato using the raspberry pi home media installer and when I navigate to the url, localhost:5050 the gui does not load or is blank. There is a dark sidebar but none of the content is visible.
I installed SABnzbd and its working great. I read in the comments on the guide it might have something to do with upstart. I'm not sure what that is. I also read it may be the respawn in the upstart script adn to comment it out by adding #before respawn. If this is the solution could someone point me in the direction to find this file and apply this fix?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm still learning how this all works but am super excited to get an automated PVR set up for me media.

Could you screenshot this?

Upstart was removed from the guide because it confused users so it's not that. It sounds like a browser issue. Can you use the IP address of the Pi 3 to access CouchPotato from another device on your network.

@mike Yes, I can access it from another computer just fine using the ip address. This is probably the way I will access it for the most part but the pi will be with my ht so it would be nice to be able to access it there if needed.

I guess since I ran through setup on another computer its not loading anything now. Its just blank white.

but one thing I do notice is I an see a flash of the login form for a split second then it goes to the blank screen.
Went ahead and uploaded a screen though its just a blank browser window. would it be advisable to just uninstall and reinstall?

Try clearing the browser's cache. If you can access the CouchPotato interface form another computer it suggests the Pi's browser is the problem and not the CouchPotato installation.

I do not think reinstalling will help but you can give it a whirl

Hi, I cleared all history and personal data from the pi web browser but that did not seem to to do anything. It still loads a blank screen. I'm not sure if that was the proper way to clear the cache but I believe it was. I'm afraid to uninstall as I dont want to risk making anything worse. But if its relatively safe I can try. If this is a possible solution what woudl be the best way to uninstall cleanly and safely?

Unless there is any other suggestion you might have?

It may be the Pi web browser has trouble showing the css and scripts for CouchPotato. I do not think reinstalling will make a difference but this is how to do it:

sudo update-rc.d couchpotato disable
sudo rm /etc/init.d/couchpotato
sudo rm -R /opt/CouchPotato
sudo rm -R /home/pi/.couchpotato

To be honest my suggestion would be to use a headless image like this Minibian without a desktop environment at all (eats memory and space) since you can access everything through web interfaces anyway .

I'll give uninstalling and reinstalling a shot and see how it goes. If the problem still persists i guess its not that big a deal since its ok from my other machines. I'll also look into the headless minibian you suggested. I do like the idea of optimizing the pis performance.
