Hi all,
I followed this guide:
http://www.htpcguides.com/remote-access-...vpn-linux/
to try and set up my raspberry pi to torrent through a VPN (PIA) whilst still being able to connect remotely to control it (from outside the local network). I have gotten the torrent and VPN set up and working but all traffic still uses the VPN.. Does anyone know what I may have done wrong/ what can be done to fix it? I installed it all as per the tutorial on a fresh copy of raspbian.
I am very new to all this, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

That guide doesn't do a split tunnel VPN where some traffic goes through the VPN and the rest goes around the VPN. We have another guide drake is working on to split the VPN, it just needs to be tested and should be out in the next week or two

Oh I see, so it is more to ensure the torrent does not run without the VPN also running (because that works perfectly)?
Thanks!

The guide you followed is just to retain remote access even when using a VPN. The new guide will force only torrent traffic through the VPN so when the VPN goes down torrent traffic doesn't use the regular internet connection. All other traffic that isn't torrent will use the regular internet connection so your speeds for other applications won't suffer otherwise.
There will be a diagram for it as it's a bit confusing.

Great news on the new guide.
Can't wait, so I won't need a second device for transmission and openvpn.

Hey @Mike I wanted to check how the split vpn guide was coming along? Not wanting to rush you or anything, I'm just asking because I need to reinstall my kodi/transmission pi and wanted to know if it's worth to wait for the guide? Because with the guide I can install transmission on my other pi. Thanks.
Btw I saw you made your website background lighter, it looks good, bright.

If you want, for sure you can PM them to me. I'll be happy to test it.
And good luck with your final exam on Tuesday.
The website works well, yes. A lighter background gives a fresher look. And did you do something with your font? It reads differently but can not make out what exactly.

I will PM you them in the next week maybe. I will probably be celebrating after I finish my exam - thanks for the luck.
Yea the typography is different as well, should be clearer now between headings and the body.
I chose Oxygen in bold for headings and thin Roboto for the body.
