Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and to HTPC Guides but I am glad I found it
I have a question, which Pi should I buy?
I'm looking to simplify my setup. Currently I'm:
- manually downloading to my MacBook and I do not want to do that anymore
- using iTunes to feed my AppleTV 3
- converting everything to mp4 - freakin hate doing that
- using Air Video HD to feed a few iPad (yes I could use iTunes but I hate it)
- storing all my media on my MacBook
What I would like to migrate to is this:
- run Plex Media Server on a Pi of some variant
- run PlexConnect so I can stream any format to the ATV 3
- store all my media on an external drive(s) attached to the Pi
- run RasPlex on an old Pi with a monitor to bring movies to a back room
- configure Sonarr (or is SickRage better?), CouchPotato, Transmission, SAB to automate the download process
So it brings me back to my question, which Pi should I buy to run the server/auto downloader? If it isn't too much of a stretch, it would be nice to also run BitSync & or some sort of NSA.
All that said. Which Pi variant do you all suggest?
- Raspberry Pi 2
- Bananna Pi or the B Pi Pro
- Orange Pi or the O Pi +
I had been thinking the RP 2 but the more I read the more the Orange Pi's seem attractive to me.
I could use more learned advice than my own stumbling about on review pages.
Thanks in advance for any replies...
