Thanks for pinging me, I have been quite busy lately but will try and get to this hopefully this week.
I will download the Transdroid and use it to access my Transmission client using dynamic DNS, sound good?

You said transmission. Transmission has a completely different setup from rtorrent.
Edit. I think my issue is lack of scgi.
All I really need is a current compilation instructions for compiling rtorrent with scgi.
All the guides I found are either too out of date, or for a different platform.
I'm on Debian wheezy on a banana pi.

Yea I would assume if I could get Transmission to work it would confirm the application is at least working and suggest an issue with rtorrent specifically. I don't have rtorrent working anywhere (Transmission is easier), I went off it when it had more problems than it was worth.
You already mentioned you can browse rtorrent from outside your network across DNS so it seemed like an issue with the Transdroid configuration rather than with rtorrent itself. Do you have log files that suggest otherwise?

How do I get log files for rtorrent?
I do know from the script release thread that others who used the script had similar trouble.

As I understand it rtorrent is not able to serve anything web based, for that you use rutorrent which requires a web server like Apache or nginx, turn debug logs on for the Apache or nginx virtual host (you can specify the path of the log file too) and then try and access it using Transdroid and see if they say anything of interest.

I'm using the rutorrent UI, with ngnix as my server.
I did get the mobile plugin configured and somewhat working.
Edit: I will post a log later.
