so when new PMS updates are released, i can just update as normal using sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade?

i only installed PMS using this image to being with.
can i run the service installer tool again over the top to add more things (couchpotato, sonaar etc) and it won't affect PMS?

Yes, it won't affect PMS, let me know if you run into any bugs, last time I tested it was all working on jessie and wheezy.

You can do everything via SSH, the installer is designed to run commands in bash so no GUI, monitor, keyboard or mouse is necessary.
I just updated the installer with some more jessie fixes for nzbget and all tests worked so you just do a git pull in the installer folder and should be good to go.
