hi, i have a problem when i set plex to transcode to the external hdd.
when i set plex to transcode to /mnt/usbstorage/transcode and i start to play a file that need trasncoding, i can see the folder populate, but as soon as i stop the file the hdd unmounts. maybe someone can help me to understand what is causing the issue.
i am on raspbian jessie, plex server is version 0.9.15.0 which i installed with method 3. the hdd is propertly mounted (or.. i believe is properly mounted). permission on folders are set to:
i see that the guide to mount hdd has new instructions to set future permission but if i try the command i get a long list of folder and files that says something like "permission can not be set" for every file and folder.
plex user is set to user "pi".
if i start to transcode, the target folder populate with the transcoding files. if i stop the file i am playing, the hdd looks like it has been unmounted. if i reboot, the hdd cannot mount and on the path /mnt/usbstorage i only see a "transcode" folder. i need to delete the folder and then can mount the external hdd. looks like a /transcode folder is on the HDD and another one is created somewhere on the SD.
can it be a problem with folder/file permissions? i think i also tried to set permission to /mnt/usbstorage/transcode as 777.
plex server can write the backup file with no problem to external hdd. transmission can write too to external hdd with no problem.
as i set transcoding to sd, everythings is fine. since SD is 32gb i might just transcode to SD, but if transcoding to external HDD is faster i'd like to try to fix the problem
thanks
