I pushed an update, do git pull in the HTPCGuides directory and rerun the installer. Let me know how it goes.
Edit 2: Run this command to add the jessie source if updated installer didn't work
Code:
echo "deb-src http://archive.raspbian.org/raspbian jessie main contrib non-free" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list

Seems the problem is:
pi@raspberrypi:~$ sudo apt-get update
[sudo] password for pi:
E: The method driver /usr/lib/apt/methods/https could not be found.
N: Is the package apt-transport-https installed?
Edit: I install apt-transport-https
Code:
sudo apt-get install apt-transport-https

Hmm https isn't used anywhere for minidlna as far as I can see but I will add it to the installer. Thank you for the feedback.

Tthe problem is that sudo bash install.sh doestn work correctly because you need that package.

That is very mysterious since apt-transport-https is only required if there are https sources in /etc/apt/sources.list or .d
Did you install anything else or change anything else before running the installer?
What do these commands output?
Code:
cat /etc/apt/sources.list
ls -lah /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

I appreciate your feedback but in order to fix things I need to know the steps you took so I can reproduce them. The last thing you sent looks like a combination of pyload and samba.
I added a no check for pyload (seems to get their certificate error), git pull and try again
Edit: pyload URL is dead so adjusting installer to use git instead

- Fresh install.
- No updates / no upgrades.
- Errors reported before.
- sudo apt-get install apt-transport-https
- update HTPCGuides
- run sudo bash install.sh
- Install minidlna.
- rerun sudo bash install.sh
- Install transmission, smb, pyload.
- Errors reported now.

Thanks, rpi-monitor I didn't add so that's why I was wondering why https was necessary. I have added it to the prerequisite check.
pyload source zip is down so need to wait for the new URL follow this for updates http://forum.pyload.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4491
Is samba working? That is also another part I didn't code but I can try and fix it if it's still not working for you
