I created a Virtualbox Ubuntu 16.04 server on my mac and followed the instructions in the tutorial: Force Torrent Traffic through VPN Split Tunnel Debian 8 + Ubuntu 16.04. Unfortunately, testing the fresh VPN didn't work and I'm enough of a noob I don't know how to open the log files to send them your way. Hoping to figure this out.
Here's the result when I tested the VPN via the tutorial's given command:
I got...
Then I tried to access the "syslog" file by typing in ssh:
...but got back the error:
Noob status confirmed. Last thing I tried was to cd into the /var/log folder and try "open syslog," but no results. If you can give me ELI5 instructions on spitting out a log file, I will do it!
Thanks much. Hope I can get this thing up and running. These tutorials are great!
