Hi,
New some urgent help please...
Just installed Kodi (amongst a few other items like SABNZBD, SAMBA, Sonarr, etc.) on my pi. The install took the better part of 1h15 although all went seamlessly.
I was under the impression that the PI2 would boot into Kodi as I am using my PI as a media server. To my dismay, it did not boot up with Kodi as ouput on the HDMI cable connected to my TV.
Question: Can I run this installation of Kodi as a media player agent or is it similar to Plex in that it will be available on a port and that you can only access it via a browser. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Conroy

It definitely should boot into Kodi, at least it did in my tests but I used Minibian (not sure what you are using as a base). The installer uses these instructions or are you doing it manually?

Found it tx, need to ENABLE=1 in Kodi config
Tx for quick response. Do you perhaps know what port Kodi runs on. Need to config my smartphone as a remote seeing that keyboard and mouse does not yet work.

Great, glad it's working
You set the port Kodi runs on in System - Settings - Services - Web Server

Hi Mike,
Tx, problem is I can't get there as my mouse and keyboard does not work on Kodi. Was hoping I could use my Yatse remote to do that. However, I need to know what the default port is please.

Hmm there probably is a way to change it in the settings.xml file and enable it there but I've never tried. The Kodi web server isn't enabled by default but the default when it is enabled is port 80 with username kodi and blank password.
Your mouse and keyboard should work, what kind do you have? If you have many peripherals attached try unplugging everything but the keyboard/mouse as it could be a power issue

The default port is 80 however the web interface that YATSE uses is NOT enabled by default and you will need to do that first.

Hi there !
I also have this problem. After enabling Kodi on startup, I get stuck at the home screen. I have a regular keyboard and mouse attached (usb) but I can't move around in the interface. I do see a new version check pop-up and other things moving, so it's not hanging..
How exactly are we able to change the xml file, could you give a quick response on how to do this. I will just try this and hope I can then acces Kodi through my phone.
Could a wrong power adapter also be the case to this problem? (my keyboard and mouse do light up, so they do get the power).. still I'm wondering..
Thanks for your awesome image!

Jelle, to test if it is a power supply issue, turn off booting into Kodi and see if you can still use your mouse and keyboard.
You should be using a 5V 2A power supply.
When I ran my tests on that image I used the iPazzPort and was able to navigate (otherwise I wouldn't have posted the image ). Curious if you manage to fix this.

Hi!
I just found the answer!
All I needed to do was to run
Code:
sudo usermod -a -G input kodi
And then reboot.
Now I can move around freely.
Just to confirm:
I installed transmission, sickrage and couchpotato + kodi through your image. But when moving around in the interface I don't see them showing up and I notice that I still need to install all these programms and addons, is this correct? Or do I need to enable them through ssh or something?
Thx for your quick response!
Jelle
