specify the server manually does not seem possible on some of the client app (like mobile). it should be possible in rasplex though.
looking forward for your guide on how to access plex behind vpn for linux

sorry to bother, one question to try to understand what the tutorial did.
before the tutorial when i type ip route list i get some similar to the output on the tutorial:
default via "myGATEWAYIP" dev eth0
"mySUBNET" dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src "myMAINIP"
after the tutorial I have more entries from the "ip route list" command .
i can see the openvpn-PIA address that connect to my gatewayIP like:
"PIA-IPaddress" via "myGATEWAYIP" dev eth0
but i also have other entries where a local IP address starting with 10.*.*.* appears.
like:
10.*.*.X via 10.*.*.Y dev tun0
and
0.0.0.0/1 via 10.*.*.Y dev tun0
what are those entries for?

tried this workaround which works to have plex server accessible from remote when trasmission is behind vpn .
ping my.plexapp.com to get IP.
then add static route that point "my.plexapp.comIP" to "mygatewayIP" (sudo route add "my.plexapp.comIP" gw "mygatewayIP")
if i reboot have to do it again. maybe an automated script can be done.
don't know if it is safe though.
