Excellent, I'm glad it is working now!
Just configure nginx, and you are good to go. Note: use nginx with Lets Encrypt if you need access from outside of your local network.

I configured nginx and added the following site, but I cannot access from my client pc (192.168.83.19).
Locally from the server (192.168.83.12) I can access the webpage using URL: http://192.168.83.12:9091/transmission/web/
Any idea?
Code:
server {
listen 80;
server_name omv.local, 192.168.83.12;
location /transmission {
proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:9091;
proxy_set_header Host $host;
proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr;
proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for;
}
}

Did you use the correct url for reverse proxy:
http://192.168.83.12/transmission
Note, don't use port number!

Which port do I need to open on my router/server?
80 or transmission port? I tried both, but I am not connectable
Any ideas?
Before configuring vpn I only opened transmission port and it worked.

You want to access Transmission gui from outside of your home network, correct?
If you followed the nginx reverse proxy from the guide, then in your router you just open port 80 for the server where nginx is running, and you use the dyndns address/transmission to access.

No, I want to be connectable for other clients/tracker to share torrentfiles.

OK, then you need port forwarding indeed. Since your torrent client's traffic is routed over VPN, there is no need to open ports in your router for this.
We have the script to get open port number from PIA and to automatically update Transmission with the port number. Actually I'm working on this guide now, so it will be published soon.
Do you use PIA as vpn provider, as it work with PIA only. If PIA is your provider, let me know, I will send you the script to test it.
