just looking at a tutorial on here about setting up server and or client between mac and kodi on pi2. but it shows configurations being done on command box on pi2 ? i use openelec so have no access to browser or command box on pi2 it boots straight into kodi. i have a 2tb HDD attached to my mac which i can access and use in kodi on pi2 using "upnp " but kodi doesnt configure metadata or library etc with that protocol , this might sound ridiculous but i have been trying for over 6 months to find a way to connect the two. both devices are connected by ethernet on my home network. airplay enabled in kodi but on mac it sees " kodi openelec" and says "this airplay device is not compatible with this software " . wont connect with SSH , SFTP, SMB, i can connect the two devices for file sharing with filezilla on the mac and sftp but that doesnt display my HDD . how do i find a path to add my HDD as a source or as a network share please ?

I haven't tried this but have read other who have.
On your os x, use NFS Manager:
http://www.bresink.com/osx/NFSManager.html
Then add the location as NFS on your Kodi/OpenElec.
